Why did I buy a 0.67x Macro Lens for my mobile phone?
I read about similar mobile phone Wide/Macro camera lenses on a few different tech blogs and even checked out some of the image comparison galleries. Priced at around $10, this was an impulse buy I had to make so that I could see the results myself.
I purchase this one from an ebay store and it shipped from Hong Kong in about 2 weeks. Setup was pretty easy - you just have to stick a little metal ring with an adhesive backing to the desired mobile phone or camera. While the package boasts a wide and a macro lens, my early tests showed that only the Macro lens really made a difference. The Wide lens seemed to nuturalize the effects of the Macro lens as you have to have the Macro lens affixed to even attach the Wide lens. Make any sense?
This was an impulse buy that I probably should have passed on. This Wide/Macro digital camera lens was fun about 2 minutes and will probably only collect dust or get lost in the near future. Who knows, maybe it'll prove its worth in some future Wdibtt photos.
