Detecting Motion with the Hawking HomeRemote Pro HRMD1 Motion Detector
The Hawking motion detector is Z Wave device that allows you to trigger a wide range of events when motion is detected. Depending on the Home Automation controller that you are using, you could use the HomeRemote Pro HRMD1 Motion Detector to run tasks like "turn on the lights in this room and the hallway and then back to there previous state in 30 seconds".
To date, I've been using the HomeRemote Pro HRMD1 Motion Detector for 2 weeks and I've had to change the batteries twice. It is constantly triggering even when there is no apparent motion or change in lighting. I have yet to contact tech support on this so I'll be following up with this purchase. Hopefully I'll be able to say that I bought this thing for a good reason.
I picked up the HRMD1 on ebay.com for about $65.
