Acer - Aspire One netbook
The Acer Aspire One netbook has been the best solution for me for so many different reasons.
When I first purchased the netbook it was to aid in my upcoming online courses I had enrolled in. Being a new mother I wanted something that was portable and convenient. The Aspire One is certainly both. At first I was hesitant due to this being smaller than a conventional laptop. However, it was quickly apparent that, that was exactly what I needed.
Let's start with my search, I browsed laptops at both Best Buy and Office Max. My search began with the larger laptops. They looked real nice, seemed to be set up with plenty of memory and additional tools. My only problem was I could not imagine setting comfortably on my couch with one. My husband directed me toward the netbooks. As I said I was hesitant, as they seemed small and rather cutesy to me. As soon as my fingers were on the keyboard I started to see netbooks in a different light. Though they were smaller and cute, they still felt just as big! With this realization, I saw that this was the type of computer I was looking for. Now to find the right one.
I am not the most knowledgeable consumer of computers, therefore my husband helped guide me to what would facilitate my needs best. With price being a factor as well our search brought us to the Acer Aspire One and an HP. The HP looked nice, but had primarily the same stats as the Acer. The Acer Aspire One was less expensive and came in my favorite color, blue. After making the choice of the Acer Aspire One I began looking for some accessories. There were many to choose from, which was very refreshing. For the moment I just purchased a soft case to help keep it safe as I transported it wherever I needed to go. Later I may also get a wireless mouse.
I began using my new netbook instantly. The first thing I did with it was upload pictures I had stored on my digital camera and phone. The Aspire One came with Windows 7 Starter, however, my husband helped me out and loaded Windows 7 Home Basic on it as well as Microsoft Office tools.
Throughout the semester I used this netbook nearly solely for my classes. Only on a rare occasion did I log in at home or work. The portability of the Acer Aspire One allowed me to take it with me to work where I would do my schoolwork in the breakroom on my lunch hour. I also took it along with me on a family vacation. This allowed my family and I to spend time together making memories while I did not miss a beat with my classes.
After the semester ended I continued using my netbook on a regular basis. I found myself using it much more than my home computer and now I prefer it over any. The size and capabilities of this machine make it very convenient to use just about anywhere. I have now been using it for near a year and would highly recommend this model to anyone looking for a laptop. The Acer Aspire One is indeed my netbook/laptop of choice.
